  • GVERSE Petrophysics uses a simple and intuitive scripting language. With little effort, users create sophisticated petrophysical models. These models can then be applied to individual wells for detailed analysis or to thousands of wells to generate reservoir-to-regional scale formation characterizations. Utilizing log template displays and petrophysical interpretations, users then multi-dimensionally view the petrophysical models from single-well log templates to multi-well cross sections to 3D fence diagrams. Scalable Functionality GVERSE Petrophysics includes over 250 predefined standard log analysis equations as well as several predefined water saturation, lithology, and coal bed methane (CBM) models. The equations are grouped into easy-to-understand families of calculations that can be copied and edited into a script to solve most formation-analysis problems. For the more sophisticated user, GVERSE Petrophysics can be linked to external models created in Visual Basic, C, or C++ code. External models offer unlimited analytical complexity as well as integration with presentation, attribute extraction, and mapping utilities. Seamless Petrophysical Analysis, Attribute Extraction, and Mapping Users can extract attributes generated in the petrophysical models within formation zones of interest and/or filtered well-sets for direct map layer creation, statistical analysis, or export. GVERSE Petrophysics easily links to ZoneManager, GeoGraphix attribute analysis application, to support well-by-well/zone-by-zone parameters for petrophysical models or read/write parameters for Pickett Plot analysis. Abstract:Knowledge of the composition (mineral and fluid proportions) of rock formation lithologies is important for petrophysical and rock physics analysis. The mineralogy of a rock formation can be estimated by solving a system of linear equations that relate a class of geophysical log measurements to the petrophysical properties of known minerals and fluids. This method is useful for carbonate rocks with complex mineralogies and a wide range of other lithologies. Although this method of linear inversion for rock composition is well known, there are no interactive, open-source programs for routinely estimating rock mineralogy from standard digital geophysical wireline logs. We present an interactive open-source program, MinInversion, for constructing a balanced system of linear equations from digital geophysical logs and estimating the rock mineralogy as an inverse problem. MinInversion makes use of a library of petrophysical properties that can be easily expanded and modified by the users. MinInversion also provides several options for solving the system of linear equations and executing the linear matrix inversion including least squares, LU-decomposition and Moore-Penrose generalized inverse methods. In addition, MinInversion enables the estimation of the joint probability distributions for constituent minerals and measured porosity. The joint probability distributions are useful for revealing and analyzing depositional or diagenetic composition trends that affect porosity. The program introduces ease and flexibility to the problems of rock formation composition analysis and the study of the effects of rock composition on porosity. Keywords: petrophysical composition analysis; well logs; inverse problem; probability distribution; depositional/diagenetic composition trends

logz.io is another cloud-based log analysis software built on the Elastic Stack and Grafana, thus ensuring easy scalability, high availability, and security. With logz.io you can search through massive amounts of data in real time and filter results by server, application, or any custom parameter that you find valuable to get to the bottom of the problem. It uses machine learning and predictive analytics to detect and solve issues faster. Other features include alerting, parsing, integrations, user control, and audit trail.

EventLog Analyzer is a log management solution that has the basic functionalities of a SIEM product but it features impressive log analysis capabilities as well. Easy to set up and use. EventLog Analyzer can collect, parse, and analyze event logs from all the devices in your network from database platforms, routers, and firewalls to hypervisors, Linux and Unix systems, Endpoint Security Solutions, and so on.

Primarily a cloud-hosted log management software, Papertrail includes great features for efficient log analysis. it automatically scans various types of logs, including text logs fyles, Apache Logs, Windows log events, and many more.

Kentucky Geological Survey also obtains LAS files by digitizing scanned images. PETRA software offers a basic module for digitizing curve traces from images. Neuralog Inc. offers same capabilities, with advanced functionality for autotracing, detecting and managing wrapped curves, and utilities for editing digitized curves (spike and gap detection, smoothing, etc.) In the 1990s, Kentucky Geological Survey used TerraStation program that included a module for digitizing logs. The program included a built-in lithology analysis module that computed percent of limestone, sandstone, dolomite, and shale, reporting the LS, SS, DOL, and SH fraction traces. 2ff7e9595c
